writing a fantasy adventure

Writing a story was something I always wanted to do. Something like the old saga’s of the mythological period, with gods, castles, monsters and heroes.
As I was secretly an insatiable reader, I knew I wanted to create something of my own when I read the Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, who created a world that was base on our world yet at the same time totally parallel to our past.
But my biggest inspiration was reading the Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novels. Pratchett’s genius combined witty writing with an engrossing way of story telling, which not only left the reader mesmerized but doubled over with laughter as well. If only I could emulate his way of story writing for just a fraction of a fraction I would be very happy.
