Corner of solitude

Tommorow is another day, but then it’s also a special day because it’s Valentine’s day. St Valentine’s day or just Valentine’s day is named after Saint Valentine. Saint Valentine is traditionally a medieval figure, a martyr for Christianity, but whose origin is so shrouded in mystery that it turns out that there may have been two or even three Valentines.

My first valentine was the whole of my Kindergarten class. Yep, like every other class in every other schools, the teacher made the kids give out their badly made coloured paper valentine cards to other classmates, even though they didn’t even understand the concept.

Nowadays I can’t get a way with giving out badly made, crayon written, valentine cards any more. Because the joke’s been done before and it’s getting old. But I’m sure if I did do it, Lauren would still manage to laugh or giggle or at the least smile. She’s a sheila with a sense of humour.

I only look for three thing’s in a partner. An appreciation for fine food and music, an all or nothing attitude (that goes for love as well as in life), and the most important thing of all a great sense of humour. And she’s got all of them.
