Heya! First and foremost I’d like to wish you a happy Saint Patricks day. I’m usually excited but after a hard days work I don’t think I have the energy. So we’re just going to head up to the pub and have a few quite drinks.

They had the Saint Pat’s parade in town on sunday last week, but I missed it. I miss a lot of things that I want to do, it’s the story of my life. Bleh.

Anyway I bumped into an old friend of mine last monday night as I was coming home on the train. There was an awkward moment of “yes I know you, but should we have a chat or should we just say hi?” initial reaction. I hadn’t seen Rebecca Mulder for years, and I have to say very impressive. You are looking good Rebecca, actually good is an understatement, more like you’re looking hot Rebecca. OUCH! Hubba Hubba! Ahwwooooooo!

On a serious note, I’m going to be very busy studying for upcoming tests, so I’ll be very scarce for quite a while.

cornerofsolitude We love you Phil

Phil you are a legend mate. There are a lot of people who would like to thank you for the years we’ve worked with you, yours truly included, because it’s been a pleasure. So thank you!

I don’t think I could have gone through my apprenticeship without the help you gave to the apprentices. You always had our backs, especially when we’re pressured from the higher ups on jobs that clearly shouldn’t have been given to us. Anyway it’s too bad you are leaving, you’re probably the only one who was capable of doing their job among the staff members.

You also had good taste in music, and I’ll miss the stories you tell after going to live gigs. And our conversations on the merits of listening to your favourite band Rage Againts The Machine. Down Rodeo was my favourite RATM track, but you’ve always said out of all them that Freedom was exceptional. So much so that you regard it as the greatest song ever. So for today I’ll make it my Song of the day.

Anyways my highlight of the day will be tonight, because we are going to party, WOO!

The fellas would like to say good luck to you dude, and all the best.

Song of the day: Freedom

Highlight of the day: Partying with Phil the legend

cornerofsolitude I want a booth

Posted in Bill and Ted, Ramble on on March 2nd, 2007 by FKG

It’d be totally excellent to have a time travelling phone booth like the one in the Bill and Ted movies, or any time traversing gadget for that matter. To control time and not worry about being late or appointments or any other deadlines.

Doing multiple shifts at work would be no worries at all, because I could sleep in as late as I want to and not bother about being grilled by the boss. More time with Lauren to relax and do all the cool stuff we’ve always planned to do but kept putting off because of other commitments. I just need more time damnit!

My week consist of 60 to 80 hours of work, it fluctuates because sometimes I have to cover for someone away or a machine brokedown that needs to be fixed before I can go home, or I’ve been asked to come in on the weekends for maintenance . Then I have to go to tafe for 4 hours for two nights a week, I’m doing my capstone. To keep Lauren (who is also very busy with work and studying) happy we try to go out on our spare days or nights, and one of those is dinner at either of our parent’s house. So you can see I don’t really have too much time for running a website, but I try my best. If only I had that booth.

I guess the only downside to time travelling is the aging process would be accelerated. To really take advantage of time you’d have to be an immortal.

cornerofsolitude Billy Thorpe

Rest in peace Billy. He died yesterday morning after suffering a major heart attack overnight and taken to hospital.

Billy was a member of the old school pub rock band the Aztecs, but their albums along with his solo career have mainly been successful here in Oz, and thus considered a rock and roll legend by many australians.

A memorial service is being organised for sunday. He is the only person I know of whose funeral attendance will be handled by Ticketmaster. That’s right, as it is a public funeral service, people will be able to attend, but only if you have a ticket, which is available for free.

Song of the day: Some people I know think that I’m crazy.
