cornerofsolitude Country music? I like it

Posted in Music on June 25th, 2007 by FKG

Lately I’ve been listening to a bit of country, or is it country & western? Anyway I was going through my cousin’s stash of CD’s and found three albums that I really like. Juice Newton’s Country Classics, RCA Country legends by Jerry Reed, and Conway Twitty’s The #1 Hits Collection.

Songs in particular that I’ve been flogging constantly on my CD player and recently on my ipod and computer are Queen of Hearts by Juice (no the drink wasn’t named after her) Newton, Jerry Reed’s Amos Moses, and Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man by Conway Twitty doing a duet with Loretta Lynn.

These are songs done in the old school country, not like the shite that dribbles out nowadays from upstarts like Nicole Kidman’s hubby, whom I can’t even remember the name of. Anyway that guy is a boozed up junkie fag, I don’t even no what she sees in him.

Song of the day: Queen of Hearts by Juice Newton, Jerry Reed’s Amos Moses, and Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man by Conway Twitty doing a duet with Loretta Lynn.

I was asked whether I believed in a god or not, and my reply was fuck yes. Their response was an expression of shock. Almost as if to say “that’s crazy talk!”

Well why shouldn’t I? People think you can’t be liberal minded and at the same time be able to believe in GOD. That science, evolution etc. is against anything to do with having faith. I’m here to tell you that they are wrong. As my old science teacher Mr Dowse used to say, science only concerns the “physical world” and not the spiritual or any social aspects of society.

Having faith is a good thing. But you’re probably asking how could I have faith when there are horrible things that have been done and are being done right this very moment as I write these words? Well have you ever stopped to think maybe we’re being punished for it? For all the wrong things that have been done or are going to be done that we are the cause, we are the culprit.

People wonder why there is hell on earth when it’s pretty obvious that they are the ones causing it when they stray away from the core teachings of their faith. The very core teaching of any faith is to live in peace and not make war. You know I’m right.

It doesn’t matter what your beliefs are, it’s a fact that the happiest people on earth are the people who really really do have those beliefs. And I’d rather have a belief in God than have no belief at all, because in most cases people who don’t or pretend to have them are the ones who engage in wanton barbarity, greed and war. To have a faith in God is perhaps a test, to see if we can create a heaven on earth in order to get to the real heaven.

Welcome back to me! And it ain’t a very warm homecoming, with being winter and rainy outside and all. Anyway…

I’ve been away for so long I almost forgot I ran this website. What’s going on? I hear you ask, well not much is my quick and lazy answer. There have been so many things going on that I can’t be bothered to talk about them. The only reason that I came back now is that a friend of mine who has recently been overseas, reminded me.

Although months ago I promised that I was going to upload the soundtracks to the Bill and Ted movies, both Excellent adventure and Bogus journey, which I had acquired. And completely forgot to do. I’ll keep it in mind and might still do it in the future.

I’ve also got to upgrade Wordpress which I am currently using as the content manager. To ward off the evil spammers. What did I find when I logged on again today? I found the site has been spammed through the comments.  So to wipe them out I will upgrade Wordpress.
