cornerofsolitude Bruce Luke almighty

After going to church this morning we went to the Cronulla beach cafe, like any bourgeoisie laté swilling capitalist bastard wannabes would do, so that Lauren could get her fix of caffeine. As I was drinking my milk (I don’t drink coffee or tea) a thought occured to me, wouldn’t it be great if God gave me permission and the powers to do what I want? A divine grace of sort granted to me. Just like in that Jim Carey movie Bruce almighty.

Not to fix up any of the social wrongs of our world and society, but to do what I want selfishly. For example, convince Lauren into a threesome with me and another hot chick of her choice. Because really thats what any red blooded male would think of doing, that is to get into the pants of two sheilas at the same time.

But then I got to thinking, God has already provided not just me but everyone with that power and that’s called “choice”. We as humans have been gifted with free will, we can choose to be selfish or unselfish, for example I could selfishly convince her by holding a gun to her head or just talk to her about it and hope she likes the idea and unselfishly let her make the decision. It’s what makes us humans.

But it comes at a price, because it’s our choices we must also choose wether to be with God or not to be with God as well, and because we have this choice that price is death. But the price is twofold, depending on your choice you could be in a desolate place devoid of the presence of God called hell or be in the presence of the “glory” of God called heaven.

So I opted to just talk and tell her about my fantasy. Lo & behold like a gift from God she said “How about that babe over there bending over with the over sized rack?” Actually that didn’t happen, what really happened was I got a smack in the face and she said “Go to hell you pervert!” And that made my day, because I now know that she only wants to share the joys in bed with me and only me, that’s when I smiled and thought “all is right with the world.”

cornerofsolitude 11th of November

Today is Remembrance day, which marks the day that the first world war ended 89 years ago. We attended a little ceremony at Monroe park just across the street from our place this morning. And as some old fella was emotionally rambling on about the war, I got to thinking “what if?” Like what if the war never happened? Would the world be where it is now?

Just imagine how the history of the world would’ve turned out if the bumbling Austrian Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand didn’t get himself killed in Sarajevo. No one would’ve had the excuse to declare war on anyone. Especially Germany who jumped at the chance to execute their Schlieffen Plan to invade France. A certain little known disgruntled Austrian born wannabe artist would never have experienced the horrors of war, humiliation of defeat and hence not formed his political party with the suspect ideology who would later become infamously known as the Nazi party.

World war 2 would never have eventuated, then their would have been no cold war, no veitnam war, no conflict between the Jews and Palestinians, no training and arming of Osama by the Americans and thus no war in the middle east, no war in Iraq and then maybe the world would be in a peaceful state today. It’s as simple as that.

But the reality is far from it. If anyone had a time machine and tried to meddle with past events, somehow history would find away to teach us the error of our ways with some unforeseen alternate eventuality. Just like in the thought provoking book I have recently read Making History, by british comedian Stephen Fry. In which the protagonist finds out the hard way, that his good intentions of preventing the existence of Adolf Hitler would actually pave the way in his place for an even more brutal dictator who makes the world into a hellish place.

cornerofsolitude At home on a friday night

Posted in Hate of the day, Ramble on on November 9th, 2007 by FKG

Here I am in front of my computer on a friday night after work. I didn’t feel like doing anything or going out anywhere tonight, so I thought why not sit in front of the computer? Lauren didn’t take it too well, she wanted us to go out with a bunch of our friends to the city. She’s pretty pissed off, but I told her all I want to do is nothing but relax at home in front of the computer. Well as it turns out I have absolutely nothing I wanna do on the computer, besides looking up porn on the net that is. So here I am posting this crap on my blog just to say that I am not doing anything tonight.

My hate of the day for today is being alone on a friday night.
