cornerofsolitude So what happens next?

Posted in Reading and Writing on January 24th, 2008 by FKG

Where in hell is Sataneous Demoneous? is the first chapter to my online fiction the Post modern fantasy. The title is a play on Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego? Which was a pseudo detective slash educational computer game that everyone was fond of playing when I was in primary school. Hence this chapter is set up as a detective story, like I mentioned on a previous post it’s kind of like a cross between or more of an amalgamation of the Maltese Falcon and Indiana Jones.

I have been too lazy (like always) to update it. But this weekend I am going to add another chapter, that is if I don’t get too lazy. Yes folks you heard right, this weekend it’s going to happen. I initially wanted the Post modern fantasy to be something that I could add to, write whatever was in my head at the time, anytime I liked. It was going to be made up of chapters with serialised stories that have a different plot arc each. Not only was it going to be an adventure slash detective story, but also fantasy, of the wizards and dragons kind.

The next chapter will be the first introduction to a super hero growing up story arc. It will not be told through the eyes of the main protagonist, although the hero does play a major role in it. Instead the view will be that of the hero’s father who is awed by the powers of his child.

A fellow ozzie bit the dust yesterday, another life wasted. People are saying that he took his own life by taking and overdosing on his prescription drugs, which makes it tragic if it was true. Heath Ledger (yes he played a fag cowboy character in the fag movie Brokemyback Mounting, or was that Brokeback Mountain?) was also at the prime of his life which only makes it more of a tragedy.

cornerofsolitude Train chick

As I’ve probably mentioned before, I get to work by train every morning. Most of the time the trains are empty for most of the way except for me and a couple of other regular people. Now this is going to sound creepy but I was thinking about stalking (shock horror!) this chick who also gets on the same carriage as me on the train every morning. I am an habitual person, and as a creature of habit I always get on the same carriage and sit on the same seat everytime I go to work. So does the chick, she has sat right in front of me, ever since I started going to work at my current job.

She isn’t a regular looking dudette either, she’s one of those people who likes to dress snappy, she actually looks pretty hot. Over the years we’ve never exchanged a word with each other, so I don’t know anything about her. I don’t know whether she is going to work or coming home, so I thought maybe one day I’ll follow her to wherever she is going to. Eventually I’ll turn into a stalker…just kidding.

cornerofsolitude Is it funny?

So why do I write stuff up that seem crude, rude, bigoted and make totally no sense at all? It’s all in the name of sarcasm, irony and most important of all, fun. In the immortal words of Dennis Leary “we spend alot of timetalking about death and disease and cancer and catastrophe and we do it because, well, I think it’s fucking funny…” I do too.
