cornerofsolitude A weeks break

Posted in Ramble on on January 16th, 2008 by FKG

Highlight of the day: Being told I can have a week off work. At last after working through the summer shutdown my boss told everyone we can have some time off, for anyone who want to take their annual leave for next week, which includes Australia Day.

cornerofsolitude Jennifer Santos

Last night a couple of Lauren’s mates came around to our place. I guess we were so bored that she started showing around some of our photos, which I didn’t mind. Photos are there to be shown around, but I got really embarrassed when we stumbled upon some of my photos of when I was a kid of preschool age.

It was photos of my birthdays, of me walking, sleeping, in the pool or baths, or generally playing with other kids. All of the photos contained me, but there was one other kid who was also in most of them.

Jennifer Santos lived down the street from us. Our parents were real chums back then and both our families used to do things together. We were both an only child, so I guess it worked great for our parents as we could become playmates. Seeing those photos of when we were kids was really nostalgic. I have very fond if now vague memories of those times together. Unfortunately those good times ended, her family moved just before we started kindergarten. I don’t know whether our parents kept in touch or not, but I moved on and never bothered finding out about her.

cornerofsolitude Lesbian rebirth

A dude at work was talking about reincarnation and the subject came up, what type of person would we want to come back as if we were reborn. And without thinking I burst out of my mouth “a lesbian!” Ok, so two hot lesbians as most blokes would tell you is the ultimate fantasy, provided we could join of course, it wouldn’t be fun otherwise.

cornerofsolitude I’m in the money

One of my first achievements for this year and probably one of the best in my life is making a financial investment. Hopefully I’ll be raking in the millions. OK, I’ve got a long long way to go before that happens, but I’ve invested in a term deposit.

So here’s the deal, Lauren and I made a pact in the middle of last year that we would save as much as we could and when we reach 20 gran we would put it in some sort of investment. She managed to do it within three months, and I was really envious of her discipline, so I begun budgeting really hard and today managed to go to the bank and put my 20 in a term deposit for four months with 7 per cent interest. It felt great, not only because she was really happy for me but because it felt like I’ve made a real achievement in my life. Now that we’ve put some money away we can start to save up for a trip overseas.
