Prologue - A Creation Story
In the beginning there were two spirits, that could be likened to two colours of light. For they were beings of power who took no shape nor forms. They were the blindingly dazzling white light and the darklight, which is not merely the absence of light but the blackness of emptiness that which only the blind can fully comprehend. They dwelt in the empty domain of the vast chaos, where there are no beginning nor ending, it is where time and space does not exist.
As they competed for the balance of power, they expelled huge ferocious amounts of intense energy that radiated forth throughout the chaos. As a result another almighty spirit had emerged, the third light fantastic, that can be likened to the crimson red light.
Whose power for an instant became the perfect counterweight that balanced the shifting plane of chaotic energy somewhere in the chaos into the form of the cosmos as the gods and mortals would come to know it.
Thus the planes of existence and the universe was born, along with time and space. And with these came the ultimate being of power, a great fire called The flame imperishable, whom would in turn be the creator of those powerful rulers of the cosmos, Superior Beings known to mortals as the Gods. The flame imperishable became the incarnation by which the three light fantastics had chosen to reveal themselves. To the Superior Beings, The flame imperishable was known as the One, the Power in solitude, the Creator, the holy trinity. Passing on the knowledge of creation as well as destruction and the powers by which they chose to align themselves.
There was seven out of all the Superior Beings that would exert theie influence the most on the universe, collectively these seven are called Sebbitu. One out of this order of Superior Beings, Nannar the light, whose form was that of a great serpentine dragon of pure light, thought up an impossible idea, to become the master of all. To become even as equal in might as The flame imperishable. And so Nannar wore a mighty helm, the Horned Crown, to rule. Then Nannar was hurled out onto the chaos, but his touched had already succumbed many of the powerful to his cause.
Samael was the most powerful of the Superior Beings to join Nannar’s ranks, who at the beginning was the warrior guardian of the fire that was The flame imperishable. As Nannar’s lieutenant, Samael led many of the Superior Beings of Nannar’s host from high in the heavens against their own kind. In Nannar’s absence Samael took up the Horned Crown for a while and became the warlord of the rebellious host.
Now war arose in the plains of existence between those influenced by Nannar and those who defended the One’s dominion of all. Chief among these was known as Ishkur or Adad the pacifist, a blacksmith among the order of the Superior Beings. Adad was chosen as the champion of the defenders of the One, as the challenger to defeat the power and might of Nannar’s host. It is said that many of Adad’s creations was not designed for warfare but in the defenders of the One’s hour of need created the very first silver sword. The edge of this silver sword emanated a red aura, indeed as it was forged among the very embers on the edges of the fire that was The flame imperishable. It was one of only two weapons Adad would create and the only one Adad would wield.
Another who sided with the defenders of the One’s dominion of all, was Mammu the life giver, or better known as Ninhursag the nature. Before the war between the Superior Beings, Ninhursag had dwelt at the highest point in the plains of existence, and only coming down from the lofty mountainous domain to aid those spirits in need. After the war Ninhursag exerted the most influence during the creation of the worlds of mortals.
And so the Superior beings were divided and engaged in battle. But there were two who would not partake in this event. They were unique among the Super Beings as they were like twins, Astarte and Inanna. Astarte the Fate, and Inanna the Time. Neither Samael nor Adad could convince them to join their side, nor could they be forced, as they were the most powerful among the Superior Beings. Only one other was more powerful than them and exerted more influence in all the planes of existence. Astarte and Inanna were content to be observers only and exerted no influence of power until the end of the war between the Superior Beings.
The Superior Being that even Astarte and Inanna was answerable to was Uriel. If Ninhursag was the life giver then Uriel was the life taker. It is said that Nannar the ancient dragon enemy was cast out into the chaos by Uriel. It is also said that Uriel was the one who ended the war between the Superior Beings as was commanded by the One. Uriel wields a blade of proverbial sharpness, known as the Soultaker.
